COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Accuray Incorporated has acquired TomoTherapy Incorporated. The combination creates the premier radiation oncology company, offering best-in-class technologies to fight cancer. The company develops, manufactures and sells personalized, best-in-class treatment solutions that revolve around the patient. Accuray's game-changing technologies – the CyberKnife Systems and TomoTherapy Systems – set the standard of care with the aim of helping patients live longer, better lives.

Accuray's gold standard radiosurgery products and TomoTherapy's innovative radiation therapy technology are highly complementary, and both put the emphasis on patient-focused care. They serve distinct patient populations that are treated by the same medical specialty. Accuray offerings include advanced, personalized technologies for the treatment of cancer and other diseases, ranging from high-precision radiosurgery for early-stage and localized disease to image-guided, intensity-modulated radiation therapy for more advanced disease sites throughout the body. To date, more than 200,000 patients worldwide have been treated using the company’s technologies and more than 550 systems have been installed in leading hospitals around the world.

The TomoTherapy® platform combines integrated CT imaging with conformal radiation therapy to deliver sophisticated radiation treatments with speed and precision while reducing radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissue. Our suite of products include the Hi·Art® treatment system, the TomoHD™ treatment system and the TomoMobile™ relocatable radiation therapy solution.

The CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System is a non-invasive alternative to surgery for the treatment of both cancerous and non-cancerous tumors anywhere in the body, including the prostate, lung, brain, spine, liver, pancreas and kidney. The treatment – which delivers beams of high dose radiation to tumors with extreme accuracy – offers new hope to patients worldwide.
