Belgian Physical Society

As a national physical society, and member of the European Physical Society, their goal is to promote physics and support physicists. For this purpose, they organise a range of activities and membership benefits. On those pages you will find information about membership, and about the BPS general meeting which took place in Utrecht. European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology

Founded in 1980, ESTRO exists to advance all aspects of radiation oncology through a range of activities for its members and the wider healthcare and patient communities.

ESTRO promotes excellence through education, professional development, promotion of research and dissemination of outcomes, courses and conferences. ESTRO is focused on improving all aspects of patient care and supports the role of radiation oncology in the multimodality treatment of cancer.

International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society

The International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society (ISRS) was founded as a worldwide non-profit organization in 1991 and remains the only professional body of its kind.

Created to foster learning and research on the topics of brain and body radiosurgery, the society is highly dedicated to:

  • Promoting technical developments in stereotactic radiosurgery
  • Promoting the highest levels of clinical expertise
  • Convening every two years at the ISRS Congresses

Intitute of Physics and Engineering in Medecine

Few people go to hospital, or even their GP, without an imaging investigation or the application of an electronic medical device. All of this equipment has been developed by scientists and engineers working in university, industry or hospitals, frequently with groups of scientists working together across organisational boundaries.

Many IPEM members work to facilitate, innovate and interpret and all have a strong focus in their work on ensuring patient safety.

Institute of Physics

The Institute of Physics is a scientific charity devoted to increasing the practice, understanding and application of physics.

It has a worldwide membership of around 40 000 and is a leading communicator of physics-related science to all audiences, from specialists through to government and the general public. Its publishing company, IOP Publishing, is a world leader in scientific publishing and the electronic dissemination of physics.
